Personal Information
I am 29 years old and married. I am an insurance agent for a local company. I like to workout and I've recently taken up Golf with my husband. (I'm not very good but I try.)
Pets
We have two labs. Katie are Gunner are our children. We love them to pieces!
When did you start in your sport?
Well after cheering, college and marriage, I gained a lot of weight. (It happens so fast!) I joined the Joplin YMCA and started taking Bootcamp classes. Well, it helped but not enough. My friend introduced to me her diet that she does for Figure Competitions. Well, I tried it and before long I was down to a size 4 from almost a 10! I was inspired to do a show in summer of 2004.
Awards/Titles
I entered in the Missouri State Championships Figure Short Class in July 2004. This was my first show and I placed second. I was very proud. I think I was more proud of myself for losing weight and getting a better looking body.
What do you enjoy about your sport?
I enjoy doing a lot of different things to keep me motivated. Right now, I have gathered up three other girls to compete in The Show-Me State Games in July 2005. We are going to run the 4 X 100 and 4 X 400 Meter Relay. Also I ran the Memorial Half Marathon back in April 2005. I didn't do as good as I wanted but I did it without stopping!
What are your goals in your sport?
I would love to do another figure competition. I think it would be neat to incorporate that experience with others in a Fitness and Photo Portfolio. I would love to have professional pictures taken and add my accomplishments to that for keep sake.
